Bring the entire family out to experience the WILD at Springbrook Nature Center. Explore the trails, learn new skills, meet live animals and more. There are new themes each month! Please dress to enjoy the weather. Activities will be geared towards elementary school-aged children, but all are welcome.
July 20 - Make the most of MUD! Don’t wear your Sunday best for this fun program! Find the best muddy spots in the park and investigate what might be living there. Collect the best mud to make your own mud-inspired project (to take home, or leave behind!).
August 31 - Insects and More!! Take an up-close look at some of the insects we feed to our turtles and toad. Head out to the prairie to use a sweep net to catch insects and whatever else is hiding in the tall grass!
September 28 - Pollinators!! Come delve into the world of pollinators! Learn about plants and animals that work with each other in the wild.
October 26 - Showers of Leaves Head out on the trails and in the classroom to learn why leaves change color and what those colors are. Create fantastic leaf rubbings to take home!
November 23 - Animal Homes We all have homes, but where do animals live? Explore the many types of animal abodes on the nature center trails.
December 28 - Winter Wonderland Come visit the nature center during the wonderful season of winter! Plan for an outdoor excursion - we will go outside.
