S.P.R.I.N.G. Goals

The SPRING (Sanctuary Protection and Renewal Into the Next Generation) Project has 4 main goals:
  1. Provide additional and improved environmental and science education capabilities.
  2. Create an expanded environment to host weddings, special events and community celebrations.
  3. Provide enhanced, wonderful outdoor experiences.
  4. Continue to protect the park's fragile ecosystem while still catering to the increasing numbers of visitors.
Interpretive Center Expansion
A new 10,000 sq ft building will be constructed, along with the rehabilitation of the current 5,000 sq ft center. Key features include 5 classrooms, a catering kitchen, an attractive reception area, fun and welcoming entrance and halls, expansive bird-friendly glass viewing areas, and new exhibits. We will rely on green building practices and sustainability features including solar power, geothermal heat and air conditioning, porous hard-scapes, roof gardens and recycled materials.

Outdoor Amenities
Proposed outdoor additions include an outdoor pavilion and celebration plaza, outdoor meeting areas and classrooms, a nature-based play area, an amphitheater, expanded parking, rerouted trails and an 85th Avenue berm.

New Exhibits
Expanded exhibits featuring nature and sustainability are crucial to the Springbrook mission and our commitment to education. Exhibits will range from hands-on to high-tech styles as we help you learn more about the natural environment.
