Volunteers are needed for Summer Special Events!

49er Kids Day: Saturday, June 23 from 12:30 - 4:30 p.m. 
Wet & Wild Water Party: Wednesday, July 11 from 12:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Nickel Jamboree Kids Carnival:  Wednesday, August 1 from 12:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Recreation Leaders and Instructors needed for the following fall programs...

  • Elementary After-school Programs at Hayes, Stevenson and Woodcrest Elementary Schools.  3:30 - 5:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.  1-4 days per week.
  • ZONE Middle School After-school Program at the Fridley Community Center.  3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Monday - Friday and 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. Friday Night.
  • Birthday Parties at the ZONE in the Fridley Community Center.  As scheduled from 1:00 - 10:00 p.m. on Saturdays and 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Sundays. 
  • Evening and Weekend Instructional Programs.

Job_Opp_2-10Instructor I

Do you have experience in sports, arts and crafts, science and nature, creative dramatics, or cooking? We need enthusiastic people to teach pre-school and elementary age youth the basic skills in a variety of areas for weekend, evening or after-school programs. Examples of an Instructor I: Elementary After-School program, ROCKS, Sports activities (t-ball, basketball). Hourly wage: $9.20 - $9.96

Assistant Youth Instructor

This position is for Rec Leaders just starting out. They provide support to the Instructor I in leadership, supervision, and instruction. Hourly wage: $7.65 - $8.27

Instructor Specialist II

Teaches a group (youth or adult) a specific recreation activity or skill at an advanced level. One year of experience teaching in related program area is required. Examples: Tennis, Aerobics, Dance, Gymnastics. Hourly wage: $16.17 - $17.50

Instructor Specialist I

Provides support to the Instructor Specialist II in leadership, supervision, and instruction. Participation in related program area, and some teaching experience desired. Examples: Tennis, Aerobics, Dance, Gymnastics. Hourly wage: $12.13 - $13.13

Youth Worker I

Plans and promotes a diversified summer recreation program to include crafts, low organized games, team games, sports, nature, co-educational recreation, and special events for youth in grades K-8. Examples: Playgrounds, CHILL, Special Events. Hourly wage: $8.25 - $8.93

Youth Worker II

Are you age 18 or older? Do you enjoy hanging out with youth in grades 5-8? We are looking for individuals with experience in leadership, customer service, teamwork and problem solving to supervise our teen center weekdays 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. and/or Friday evenings 6:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. Workers will plan, promote and implement a variety of activities and special events including crafts, low organized games, team games, sports, and special events. Must be 18 years of age. Hourly wage: $9.02 - $9.76

Basketball Scorekeepers

Operates the electronic scoreboard for adult league games; accurately completes scorebook, and puts away equipment at the end of the night. Hourly wage: $9.26 - $10.02

Facility Supervisor I

Supervises the assigned facility, maintaining the safety of participants, and resolving conflicts. Examples: Gym Supervisor, Rink Attendant. Hourly wage: $8.41 - $9.10

Facility Supervisor II

Supervises the assigned facility, and the program being held. Responsible for the efficiency and quality of the organized program or activity including problem solving and customer service. Required to set-up and put away equipment for the program. Example: Softball/Football Facility Supervisor Hourly wage: $9.57 - $10.36
