Northstar Station - FridleyOvernight parking at Fridley Northstar Station now allowed.Metro Transit will run a six-month pilot program from January 2010 - June 2010 to allow overnight parking at the Fridley Northstar Station. There are up to 10 spaces designated as available only for overnight parking with each car permitted to occupy a space for no longer than seven days at a time. Signs have been installed to mark the overnight parking spots. Station LocationsFull service for the Northstar commuter rail began on Monday, November 16, 2009. Five north metro stations bring riders into downtown Minneapolis. In the first months of operation, the ridership levels are beating expectations. How does commuter rail differ from light rail?A commuter rail line runs during peak hours on weekdays. Light rail trains operate seven days a week and 24 hours a day.
