The Public Works Department is responsible for engineering, design and maintenance of City streets, sidewalks, parks, water, sanitary and storm water utility systems, the Municipal Center and City Garage, and maintenance of equipment. Technical support in the form of surveys, drafting, research and utility location is provided by Engineering for the development of improvements plans, construction and safety programs for the City. The divisions established within the department are as follows:
Municipal Center Division: Maintains the exterior and interior of the Municipal Center Building in such a manner which ensures safety for the public and extends the useful life of the facility. The Parks, Sewer, Street and Water Divisions are open from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Friday. Our staff can be reached at 763-572-3566 during normal hours or 763-427-1212 after hours and on weekends for emergencies. BEFORE you begin any sewer or water line repairs, make changes to your foundation or additions to your home or business, build fences, plant trees, pour a patio or driveway, or plan any excavations requiring deep holes or trenches on your property...
