SNC School Programs Print E-mail
Springbrook Nature Center works very hard to keep on top of the ever-changing MN grad standards.  In fact, we have written and rewritten curriculum specifically to work with schools to address their science graduation standards.

We are currently teaching Fridley School District students kindergarten through 8th grade using a graduated curriculum.  If you are interested in finding out which standards are being covered with each grade level, please contact the SNC teaching staff at 763-572-3588.

Frequently Asked Questions

1.  Can we eat lunch in your picnic shelter?
Sure, as long as it has not been rented by another group.  To find this out, check with the staff at the time of the booking of your program.  We cannot make guarantees unless you rent the shelter for your students, but most weekdays are open.

2.  Is there a charge for chaperones attending a paid program?
There is no charge for chaperones, unless each child brings a parent.  We reccommend 1 chaperone for each 15 children.

3.  How much does a program cost at Springbrook?
There are different charges for programs depending on the options you choose.

60 minute program at the Nature Center - $4.50 per child (minimum charge is $45)
120 minute program at the Nature Center - $6.00 per child (minimum charge is $60)
60 minute offsite program - $100, mileage extra if over 10 miles

4.  How long are your programs?
Our programs can be 60 minutes or more, see previous answer.

5.  How far in advance should we be booking our program?
That depends on the season.  In general, allow at least 30 days lead time.  School year programs cannot be booked until the end of the first week in September.

6.  What is your student to naturalist ratio?
We like to keep our ratio to 1 naturalist for every 25 students.  In some cases, this ratio is smaller.
