Environmental Fun Fair
Environmental Fun Fair 2022!
The Fridley Environmental Fun Fair is BACK! Fridley Recreation, Springbrook Nature Center and Anoka County 4-H have teamed up to offer this free, fun and educational event at Springbrook Nature Center on May 7, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
- 10:30 a.m. —Fun Run on the trails of SNC (free, but we ask to please bring a can of food that we’ll donate to local food shelves)
- 11:30 a.m. — Music with Will Hale in the ampitheater
- Lots of cool exhibitors including:
- Audubon Chapter of Minneapolis
- Anoka County Master Gardeners
- Anoka County TMO
- International Wolf Center
- Live Aquatic Insects with an entomologist
- North Suburban Center for the Arts
- Rustic Chef Food Truck
- And more!
Event overflow parking is located in the Walmart parking lot, a short walk away (8450 University Ave NE). Ride your bike to the event to receive a special prize at the check-in booth.
Leading up to the Environmental Fun Fair will be Fridley Earth Week which will kick off on Arbor Day April 29. Throughout the week, we encourage you to participate in a variety of activities that support a healthy environment, including: a park clean‐up day, story walks, scavenger hunts and more!
Fun Run/Hike
New to the Environmental Fun Fair is the Fun Run/Hike. This will be 1 mile loop around the Springbrook Nature Center Trails that will be lined with informational story walks, information, and activities. Take it slow with the kids, taking in all the amenities or show up at 10 a.m. for a timed start where you can enjoy a noncompetitive run around the trails.
The Environmental Fun Fair is a free event but we do ask that you bring at least one non perishable food item to participate in the Fun Run/Hike. Donations will be received at the event check in table on and accepted throughout the event. All donations will be given to SACA Food Shelf.
Examples of Non Perishable Food Items:
- Canned meats (tuna, salmon, chicken)
- Peanut butter
- Jelly
- Condiments (ketchup, mustard)
- Spices
- Hygiene products (lip balm, lotion, toothbrushes)
- Coffee, tea, cocoa, instant coffee

Performer
In addition to our local exhibitors, we will have a few special performers attending the event.
Will Hale: Musician, greatness amplifier, and experience generator Will Hale offers fun entertainment for kids and families with a live concert! From 11:30 - 12:30 in the Springbrook Amphitheater we will clap, dance and sing with the king of the rocking air guitar.
Songs are environmentally focused with a emphasis on fun!
