Apex Pond Enhancement Project

Apex Pond Enhancement Project Background:

The City of Fridley has been working closely with our local district partners, both Anoka Conservation District and Coon Creek Watershed District to develop the plans for Apex Pond. Apex Pond was constructed in 1999 and was last cleaned in 2010. The first step in this project is to dredge the pond of overgrown vegetations, broken trees, debris, and sediment buildup that has accumulated over the years.

The second stage in the project is to enhance the pond by increasing the stormwater storage volume. This will add flood storage and reduce overall maintenance. Additionally, new shrub plantings will be established around the pond. Apex 2

Project Updates:

September 22nd, 2023

This project has been awarded to New Look Contracting, Inc. out of Rodgers, MN. The Contractor is planning to start construction on Monday, October 2nd, 2023. It is anticipated that the construction of Apex Pond will be completed by late October. We ask that all residents adjacent to the pond avoid parking on the street to allow the Contractor to navigate the area better. Additional information and a project map can be found here
