On Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 12:36 pm, Fridley Officers responded to a 9-1-1 call in the area of the walking path near the 6800 block of University Ave NE. Officers were responding to a report of a simple robbery.

The victim reported she was traveling along the walking path north bound after going to the Walgreens store located at the corner of Mississippi Street and University Avenue. A male suspect who she had walked past earlier ran up to her and demanded money and the victim's cell phone. The victim gave her cell phone to the suspect and indicated she did not have any cash. Fridley Officers successfully located and arrested the suspect in the 5400 block of Main Street, returning the cell phone to the victim. The suspect was subsequently booked at the Anoka County Jail for Simple Robbery and Possession of stolen property.
