On Monday, April 25, from approximately 1-2 pm, Fridley Police and community partners presented an Arrive Alive presentation at Totino Grace High School.
Arrive Alive is a dynamic, 2-day event that simulates a car crash as a result from distracted driving and driving under the influence. This reminder is especially important this time of year for high school students as they plan things like prom, graduation parties and skip day. A portion of this event will involve a reenactment of a crash scene involving real cars, real crash victims (student actors), police, fire, emergency response, a helicopter landing and other related activities.
Last year, this presentation was made to Fridley High School students. This year, it is for Totino Grace students. This is not a public event, but we wanted to make you aware of the activity in the area so that you will not be alarmed. A recap of the event will be shown in the June edition of Community Connection, both newsletter and cable show, and we encourage you to check back for information about this important, educational and emotional event, and to talk with your children about the dangers of distracted driving.
